An After Effect animation using Online Tutorial

In this assignment, I create an After Effect animation using an online tutorial from www.video copilot.com. The idea is making a text animation trapped in a glass or ice cube. This online tutorial only 20 minutes long, but so many steps and layers we have to create, to give the right effects on the text or texture. First, I was afraid not gonna make a good one because I had chosen the not so good ice texture, but in the end, the texture look not so bad, in fact I like it especially the icy cold blue color. I tried to make this animation look like an opening title of a thriller movie. Art Deco Advertisement Poster

In this assignment, I create an Art Deco poster using Adobe Illustrator. It was really challenging because I did not know really about Art Deco movement art and It was hard for me to get the ideas for the poster. So, I just put anything about lifestyle in 1920-1930 era such as women dress and hat fashion, classic car and skyscraper designs in that era. I like the combination of colors in this posters, mostly I used orange and green colors.

Creating a web page using Photoshop and Dreamweaver

This assignment is to make a webpage using Photoshop, so there are a lot of creativity you can do to make a website like this. I just made it simple, just using one image as a background page. This kind of website is perfect for children, games or kindergarten, but also for adult if you want to make not so serious website, just for fun, and not too formal like a corporate company.

Creating a 4 page website

 In this assignment, I create a website using a Wordpress, just by deleting the sidebar to make it look like a website. I am glad i had this assignment so I can express my hobby in writing on article or a review. I created a movie website, because watching movies is one of my hobbies. Movies give me inspiration and generate me to be more creative with ideas and imagination. I am a movie collector, so one day I will continue this website seriously as a hobby and an affection toward movies, and also to improve my journalistic skill and my English.

Card Dance Animation

In this assignment, I create Card Dance animation using Adobe After Effect, but first I have to combine 9 different images with the same size in one artboard, and then I imported it to Adobe After Effect so I can animate the images by using rotation tool and camera option tool. I like this assignment, because with this kind animation, I can use a bumper or opening for my Graduation video, documentary video or any kind video project.

Creating an Interactive HTML5 Slider

In this assignment I was introduced with a new software called Adobe Edge Animated to make this interactive HTML5 slider. But first I have to make two version of  texts in Adobe Photoshop, first just a text like you can see the image above, and the second a text that have been modified with texture, like you can see below. Adobe Edge Animated reminds me of Adobe After Effect, but more simple. To play or to activated the slider, you have to see it in a browser, just click the "after" and "before" text, you will see the slider text changed. I hope you like my creation in this assignment.

 In this assignment, we just make a video game from a game engine that we can download from a website. I use construct2, with a very clear and easy to understand step by step tutorial. We only need to set the elements on the video game or maybe we can call it to program the video game based on constructions from the tutorial. To create the actual video game must be difficult, especially to be a video game programmer, creating the ideas, design the character and make the game so fun to play with. This one look a simple video game for kids, but still amazed me how people can create a video game, especially 3D animation video game with characters look real like a real human and very detail.

 This is my email newsletter, it is far from good, but I am still learning. Web design is challenging for me, to understand all those codes and HTML server stuff in Adobe Dreamweaver. With a strong determination and also still with the help from my friend at class, I finally accomplish this assignment. To make a newsletter maybe just like making a setting page lay out for a magazine or newspaper, but newsletter lay out is smaller and more simple. The hardest part of this assignment was making the logo. We have to make a certain kind logo according to client request, so we have to follow the requirements and cannot make a logo just like we want. I made the logo pretty simple because I run out of time, and also it is hard to combine the client request to mix the home improvement company image with something funky outgoing style. I'm afraid my logo does not represent a home construction company, but I hope the client likes it. So here is my logo image below.

This assignment is my first experience with Adobe Dreamweaver which is I never learn before, but thanks to my friends Trina Pellet, Daniel Hundven, and Mark Armstrong who taught me how to do it. I love photography and have taken a lot of good pictures while I am living here in the U.S, and this photo gallery assignment inspires me to make my own photo gallery someday.

For this assignment, completely using Adobe Dreamweaver. I have to download free CSS template and opened it in Adobe Dreamweaver, and modify the template with my own style. It was so confusing at first, but after got help from Tyler Todd and Mark Armstrong, my friends at class, I finally can accomplish this assignment. Maybe it is not perfect, because I mostly only changed the images, text and links, but I learnt a lot that day in how to create a web site, and I think I'm willing to learn more about web design and not feel affraid anymore with confusing html codes.

This assignment is using after effect which is new and fun to me. First, it was difficult and confusing, but then when you learn more, there is a lot 3D animation we can create by using after effect. Since I am a beginner and do not know much about after effect, I made this assignment pretty simple, with camera movement only tracking from one side to side, and also with the pictures moving forward. But I am quite satisfied now, because I know how to move and play with object, lighting and camera in after effect.

I love this assignment. At first I really nervous and scared, afraid cannot accomplish this assignment, and also could not find idea what to create. But slowly I remember, when I watch a TV program there is always a short slide opening called OBB, and in this shape animation assignment, I think I can create something like that. But this time I forgot to put a text to make it look like real TV program opening or ending credit title.

In this assignment, I create a font set of lower case letter. This time I chose different brush from previous capital letters assignment, which is I download from a website. I like this font of letters better, because I learn how to stroke it without make it too scrawny. To make the numbers fonts it is a little bit easier. I like this assignment.

 In this assignment, I have to create a sticker with vinyl materials. It was fun to design the sticker with Adobe Illustrator, but to send the design into Roland cutter machine software and cut the vinyls and stick them together to be a sticker was frustrating for me. I need to be really careful when I imported the layers into Roland cutter machine software so the cutter machine will cut the vinyls perfectly in the right size, and I made it. Here are the samples of my sticker design in Illustrator and a photo of the actual sticker.

In this assignment I have to create an artwork using drawing tablet. I used Adobe Photoshop to create this assignment. I never thought that drawing with drawing tablet was extremely difficult, and the result was not as I expected before. I always love human figure, so I drew a little boy with his little sister from a photo that I found from a website. I was hoping I could create a great strokes on my drawing but it was really difficult to choose the right brush, especially for the skin, and the colors was not pop out because I lower the intensity, so I stroked each color many times and experimented to create texture on the cloths. Even it was difficult but still a fun experience for me to draw with drawing tablet for the first time.

We have to make 4 cards design for a card game called "Wall" using Adobe Illustrator. I do not really understand about this game but just design them just like a poker card game. I had difficulty to get ideas to create these card design, so I just make it simple. I hope I made them right. The first card above is Back Card Design. The next cards below are Damage Card, Reinforcement Card, and The Wall Card.

This kind of animation is amusing for me. I like it and give me many ideas to create with it someday. I think like Adobe Flash or After Effect, because with this software we can create dynamic moving animation for advertisement or short animation movies. This assignment might be not perfect, because to do it need concentration and meticulous skill to make the animation show up perfectly and tidy. I still need to learn more about animation and graphic design now. You know, I always have many great ideas inside my head but still lack of skill and ability to create them. Let’s see!
